Harrison Nicholls

What happened to rocky planets? This is the question which my research aims to answer. I apply numerical modelling to understand the physical and chemical processes which shape (exo)planets throughout their billion-year lifetimes, with a particular focus on atmospheric processes. My work spans sub-Neptune exoplanets with giant hydrogen envelopes, super-Earths with deep magma oceans, and smaller terrestrial planets with the prospect of habitable surfaces — including Earth itself.
